Read a more complete version of Day 5 of our motorcycle trip here.
Incredible day of riding today. We started in a small indigenous town, then wound our way south through a river valley with deep red canyons on either side. We headed for salt flats way up high in the Andes (4000 meters, according to someone here). The road was in incredibly good condition, with switchbacks for climbing. About an hour and a half later, expansive white salt plains opened on either side of us. We took plenty of pictures then made our way down to another small town. We start heading back for Buenos Aires tomorrow.
(We have two posts from the last couple of days that won't post. Hopefully you'll see them soon - though out of order.)
